Đọc sách và ngắm Hồ Tây

Hôm nay Hà Nội mưa ri rích. Tự quyết định cho mình một ngày nghỉ, mình ngả lưng trên chiếc ghế đặt trong góc phòng yên tĩnh của hiệu sách Bookworm và tiếp tục đọc câu chuyện về cuộc đời của một cậu bé người Việt trong những năm tháng chiến tranh Việt Nam và số phận đưa cậu đến nước Mỹ xa xôi. Góc vườn ngoài kia, qua cửa sổ, mưa vẫn rơi đều những hạt mưa buồn. Và có thể vì cơn mưa mà hiệu sách hôm nay cũng vắng người đến, nên dường như không gian trong phòng hoàn toàn thuộc về mình  ;-)

Bây giờ thì mình không còn ở Bookworm nữa. Sau cơn mưa, thay vì trở về nhà, mình đến quán cafe trên tầng thượng khách sạn Sofitel. Bookworm và nơi này quá gần nhau, khiến mình không thể đi qua mà không dừng lại. Ở đây bạn có thể ngắm toàn cảnh mọi thứ xung quanh Hồ Tây từ cái góc cao trên cùng của khách sạn.

 

Bạn có thể nhìn dòng xe ngược xuôi dưới con đường Thanh Niên, những con thuyền thiên nga đang dạo  trên mặt nước, có vài người đang câu cá gần Đền Trấn Quốc trong khi có một số người dạo qua, hoặc dừng lại trò chuyện hay cùng chờ xem có chú cá nào "tham ăn" mà cắn câu hay không. Điều đó vừa tạo cảm giác an toàn vì bạn có thể thấy họ nhưng có thể họ không thấy bạn. Nhưng nó cũng khiến mình có cảm giác hơi sợ tý chút, vì độ cao nơi mình đang đứng, vì lancan bằng kính trong suốt khiến mọi sự dưới kia quá rõ, vì sự cô đơn, vì nỗi nhớ nhung... chẳng biết nữa. Tất cả thật khó định nghĩa được cảm giác mà mình đang có, vừa thanh thản  vừa buồn, đặc biệt khi nghe Laura Pausini hát bài này. Dù sao, mình đã có một ngày bình yên trong những ngày bình yên... Có lẽ bạn sẽ muốn đến ngắm nhìn hoàng hôn từ không gian này bằng trải nghiệm của chính bạn trong một dịp nào đó như mình.

Món ăn Huế trong lòng Hà Nội

Một điều không thể phủ nhận là mình thích đồ ăn Huế. Có rất nhiều món ăn chơi sáng tạo và đa dạng để liệt kê các món Huế mà nhiều người dù đã đến hay chưa đến Huế dễ "phải lòng". Hôm nay mình muốn nói đến quán ăn Nét Huế, chỉ 10 phút đi bộ từ trung tâm phố cổ Hà Nội. Tháng trước tình cờ phát hiện ra quán, trong 3 tuần mình đã đến quán đến tận 5 lần ;-) Quán không quá xa công ty mình, có hai điểm ở đường 36C Mai Hắc Đế và 204B Hàng Bông nên rất tiện để đến ăn. Quán ở Hàng Bông có hai tầng với cách bài trí khác nhau. Tầng 2 dành cho những bạn trẻ thích không gian fun, trẻ trung và thích ngồi kiểu Nhật Bản. Nhưng tự thấy bản thân cũng không còn teen nữa nên  mình thường hay ngồi tầng 3, nơi không gian được bài trí trầm hơn với những bức tranh rất đáng yêu về non nước, con người xứ Huế.

 

 

Món Huế không cao lương cầu kì, mà đơn giản được chế biến từ những nguyên liệu dân dã như tôm đồng, gạo tẻ, rau sống gia vị, nước chấm đa vị chua cay mặn ngọt. Đặc trưng của món Huế là sự tinh tế trong cách bài trì, chế biến món ăn dân dã. Đơn cử những món nhiều người yêu thích là nem lụi vị sả, bánh xèo, bánh tôm ram, bánh bột lọc, bánh bèo, bánh nậm, bánh khoái… Chia sẻ với các bạn một số món mình nghĩ là khá ngon ở Nét Huế, hy vọng bạn cũng thích như mình.

 Đồ tráng miệng ở Nét Huế cũng rất dễ thương. Mình thích chè chuối mang vị thanh và ngọt mát

Nếu có dịp ghé qua, bạn sẽ hài lòng với Nét Huế bởi ở đây, món ăn không chỉ ngon, mang đặc trưng hương vị xứ Huế mà giá cả cũng rất hợp lý. Các bạn trẻ phục vụ tại Nét Huế rất dễ thương, nhiệt tình và chu đáo với thực khách. Một điều lưu ý là nếu đến buổi trưa sẽ rất đông đấy. Bạn nên đến trước 12h để không phải chở đợi lâu để có chỗ ngồi. Có hôm mình đến, thấy cả những người bạn nước ngoài đến du lịch Hà nội cũng ghé quán. Thế mới thấy không chỉ người Việt Nam mà cả người nước ngoài cũng yêu mến món ăn Huế đấy ;-) Thêm vào đó, đồ ăn đa dạng nhưng giá mỗi món rất hợp lý từ 25-40 000 VND/ món. Nếu bạn muốn thử món Huế trong lòng Hà Nội, Nét Huế là địa chỉ lý tưởng dành cho bạn đấy.

Vong Thi temple is a peaceful temple located among Vong Thi Architecture village, close to West Lake. My visit to this place after the rain on a Sunday was enjoyable time for myself., making my soul calm. I like the architecture and green garden of the temple. 

A lovely concert

One of VNSO shows in concert season of this year. These pictures were taken from our seats in Hanoi Opera House - once the campus of the University of Indochina. The cozy atmosphere of great music immersed us in beautiful moments of relax. Thank you M&T for your invitation. We enjoyed the night a lot. A peaceful, incredible concert before my trip.

The weather is nice today in Hanoi. I spent a little time walking around the lake after my lunch. The lake is next to Thong Nhat park, a big park in the city and part of a JICA project. Phoenix-flowers are in blossom at many street corners. Mùa phượng, mùa chia tay. Chợt thấy buồn.

Another favorite Vietnamese restaurant

Dong Son Drum Restaurant is located in Cau Giay Dist, near to my parents' house. In recent weekend, there was a good opportunity for my family to have buffet  lunch in this restaurant.  Compared with Buffet Viet, Sen Ha Thanh restaurants which are my family favorite eating-out places, the food here is also delicious with easy availability of Asian to Western cuisines. The service was satisfied to customers as well. Here in the second floor of restaurant display a well-arranged collection of drums on legends of Dong Son period. This is a good story for how the restaurant's name is originated. If you would like to find a peaceful place for family gathering, enjoying Viet cuisine and other foreign countries' food in a great harmony of "East-meet-West" interior design and art decoration, go visit Dong Son Drum and experience the difference it brings to you. From now, my favorite restaurant list has been updated with Dong Son Drum ;-)

Hoàng hôn Hồ Tây

Nếu bạn đến Hà Nội, đừng bỏ lỡ việc ngắm hoàng hôn mặt nước Hồ Tây. Những con thuyền thiên nga rong ruổi trên mặt nước. Những đôi tình nhân nắm tay nhau cùng trò chuyện và ngắm nắng chiều. Trên con đường Thanh Niên, tấp nập hối hả dòng xe của những người tìm về tổ ấm gia đình thân thuộc sau 1 ngày làm việc. Hình ảnh này dù tĩnh nhưng như 1 thước phim chậm sinh động về nhịp sống của người Hà Nội. Ngắm chiều Hồ Tây, nghĩ thèm một nơi chốn bình yên, ổn định quá, thấy lúc này tha thiết cần một bờ vai để tựa. Dẫu đi đâu xa, tôi sẽ vẫn nhớ cảm giác của 1 chiều hoàng hôn như thế này, không biết tả thế nào, buồn da diết, nhớ da diết...

My day

I hope everyone is having a great week! I have been quite busy at work recently. Many figures to estimate and make annual projection for the cinema. Can you believe I even dream of them too? ;-( So this morning, in order to refresh myself, I went to local market nearby for buying some groceries. It was fun walking around to see how fresh the vegetables, flowers and other stuffs are in early morning. I got some roses, fruits and veggies. And the woman who sells sticky rice said hi to me by her beautiful smile when I passed by. Quickly I got my refrigerator full of stuffs, which made me happy and then could be ready to go work. I realize that just waking up earlier than usual and doing something different from your routine, that's enough to make you feel merry. Well, as for me, it is : ) Ok, this is just a quick post since I need to be back to project's financial planning work now. Just want to share with you another thing make me feel good. When I arrived to office, my colleague had brought me her lovely pot in my desk. What a wonderful gift to brighten up my day.

Red madonna lily - Hoa loa kèn đỏ

I took photo of red madonna lily (Loa kèn đỏ) in front yard some days ago. The flower bud had sprouted thanks to my parents' care to water the lily every day.

Today, it is sunny and windy, what a perfect Thursday. I got messy with my dog - Bin when moving motorbike to go work. Bin wanted to play with me, but not in the right time. And what a surprise when I realized the flower have been blossomed so beautifully there. It's worth my parent's care to it. The spring has brought a wonderful gift in our yard. I hope you have a good beginning to brighten up your day like me too.

Gym or dance with me?!

April has come. And it’s time for me restart regular workout schedule. This recent winter, I have kept jogging, more exactly, walking only. The frequent participation in gyms or taking aerobics class became the stories of last year for so long. If I want my body stronger, more flexible and healthy, I should do it right now healing up with athletic routine. So this season is awaiting for me to go for better shape. I find myself have 5 options as following:

1. Come back to Dang sen fitness center for gyms like last year
2. Join in Latin dance/ dance sport class
3. Keep up more continuous yoga poses as I did via my DVD and pocket yoga lessons
4. Restart aerobics class which I used to practice during these 5 years
5. Ride bikes to parks or lakeside area as I sometimes did in weekend  

It’s too bad because after looking back to what I had done before for athletic exercise, I realize how lazy I become. I eat out more, even though i cook more; I watch TV and stay longer in front of computer; I do sometimes leave PC for a break with exercise poses during office hours; I go walk in free time like late afternoon too. Anyway it seems like not enough compared with my lazy habits. So what I need now is to restart improving my health. 

Thinking over 5 foregoing choices, I’m eager for dance. The Salsa class taken last year inspired me wanna learn more new dance movement. There’s a chance I’m going to take a dance sport class. This is a new try ever which can offer me nice time developing flexible body strength and sense of new confidence. Gym or dance? Well, I will take the latter. And I’m happy to have other 4 colleagues join in me. A class will begin after our national holidays (called Ngày Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương) by next week. It will take in same place, Olympic club, where I took salsa class and 15 mins by motorbike far from my office. I get ready for this coming-up dance sport class and can’t wait feeling my body change in positive manner.

While going to gyms might not be suitable for myself at least now, you may find Dáng Sen club worth to try. Compared with general gyms in downtown Hanoi, this gym is quite newly-built, well-equipped, clean and convenient. But it is offered for female customers only. Daiso stores are downstairs to bring you joy of shopping one-price merchandises.

An early work day

After a long cold winter, Hanoi is getting warmer today. This early morning, receiving a call from my colleague on his need of urgent support for FBNC channel project, I got a ride to office earlier than usual. This resulted from a last-minute request from partner in Malaysia for her noon meeting today. The leave offered me a little enjoyable time when passing by Sword Lake. Some old people were going for jog while many people like me were heading to work. Some days ago, over here was crowded of citizens watching how group of governors monitored persons in charge to move the Hồ Gươm turtle in the lake to safe area for further special treatment and healing his wound. The morning sunshine brightened my day.  I'm happy that I can forget my heavy jackets on wardrobe from now on. Hopefully nhe. It was such different feeling to go work earlier. I realize I have indulged myself too much getting up late but lucky I am to have flexible work hour schedule. It was worth leaving home earlier and get my work done before deadline. Now I'm reading emails from friends that I'm more than happy to hear from today. In meantime, I want to share some pictures around Sword Lake that I took from iphone. I wish to have brought my camera, which could have helped me shoot better quality photos in a good sunny day.
